Brother Joseph, I wonder which chruch you are a liturgist in, because it smarks of the pseudo-liturgical claims that many people run around proclaim and using Vatican II as a cover. How can you be a liturgist and ask what rite the Mass was celebrated in? In the Latin side of the Catholic Church (there are other Catholic Churches in communion with the See of Peter incase you do not know that too)there is only one Rite and that is the Latin/Roman Rite. As Pope Benedict has taught, we now have two forms of the same Rite, ordinary and extraordinary.I wonder what you understand by noble simplicity of Sacrosanctum Concilium? You pick out one phrase our of a whole document and give it your own meaning, while ignoring the whole teaching of the document. Please go back and read the Constitution on the Liturgy (Sacrosanctum Concilium) and may be you will be enlightened further. God bless us all.

Dear Eugene,Let's give the OMON guys a break. Obviously they are not the sort of people we'd have round for dnenir but that they are not that bad. Protests have been gone in Moscow since December without any really serious trouble. Most of the demos have passed off peacefully without a hitch. When there has been trouble as on 5th March 2012 and 6th May 2012 it originated with a very small and unrepresentative group amongst the protesters. Even then the OMON reaction was hardly disproportionate. There's been no Kent State or Grosvenor House riot or such scandals. As these things go OMON come across as a well trained and well disciplined and rather efficient force. Recent reports even speak of them working alongside the protesters at Chistye Prudy, liaising through Ksenia Sobchak to keep vagrants and Nashi types away.This comment is absolutely unconnected to the question of whether the authorities are planning a tougher crackdown or not. There is no sign of one so far and frankly I cannot see what the political logic behind such a crackdown would be given that the protests are hardly a serious challenge to Putin, but then people, even clever people, don't always act in a clever way

Jan04Chris Carlson Neil,I gotta disagree with you. I think the kits are clean and smlipe. They are kind of retro in a way. If they hadn't come from Addidas, I would say they came from Rapha. I love the three stripes on the bibs. Nice little details. They are much better looking than Radioshack's kits. You can clearly see all the sponsors.Only disadvantage is that they are black. (although the back is predominately white). I think they might have to change to white because of heat issues. The sixth reason (or the first one) could be the immtliaeedy following meeting in Chicago, where (the US) President will then welcome NATO allies and partners that is everyone but the Russian delegate. And of course, the seventh, could be a desire to avoid brushing off the indecent proposals as you had suggested elsewhere So it is now the Prime Minister who will enjoy the fruits of the concessions Russia made for WTO membership (or, one may say will bear the brunt ) Cheers
